Valentin Voinescu has 21 years of experience in the legal profession and co-heads NNDKP's Banking and Finance practice. He is also a leading member of the firm's financial restructuring team, with a focus on complex turnaround, financial restructuring, and special situations mandates.
He has extensive transactional and advisory experience in the financial sector, advising financial institutions and corporate clients on a wide range of sophisticated financing and restructuring matters. Throughout his career, Valentin has acted as lead counsel on numerous landmark transactions in the Romanian market.
In the turnaround and restructuring field, Valentin advises on distressed asset strategies, debt restructuring, and insolvency proceedings. He leads projects involving both operational and financial restructuring, frequently representing creditors and debtors, including multinational corporations, local companies, banks, and investment funds.
- Assisted a syndicate of banks in providing approximately EUR 500 million in financing to Carmistin The Food Company, one of Romania's leading agri-food companies.
- Assisted a syndicate of banks in providing EUR 550 million in financing to the Swiss agribusiness group Ameropa.
- Assisted a syndicate of banks in providing a EUR 101.5 million loan facility to RodBun Group, one of Romania's leading agricultural businesses, through the refinancing of existing facilities and an increase of EUR 37.14 million in financing.
- Advised a leading player in the agribusiness sector on all aspects of a highly complex and sensitive restructuring process, the largest of its kind in Romania to date in terms of exposure, exceeding EUR 200 million.
- Advised a US-based investment fund on the successful restructuring of a market-leading fashion retail company, including the review of complex cross-border restructuring elements across Central and Eastern Europe, including the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Slovenia, and Bulgaria.
