Gabriela Cacerea has 23 years of experience in the legal profession and co-heads NNDKP's Corporate/M&A and Energy and Natural Resources practices.
Gabriela brings extensive experience in domestic and cross-border M&A transactions as well as regulatory projects. Her work encompasses joint ventures, privatizations, initial public offerings (IPOs), secondary offerings, and major restructuring projects, demonstrating her ability to navigate complex and strategically significant corporate matters.
In the energy sector, Gabriela has coordinated projects across all stages of development and operation, as well as regulatory assessments. Her experience includes conventional electricity and downstream natural gas projects, renewable energy developments, energy efficiency initiatives, new technologies, and transactions supporting the transition to clean energy and decarbonisation.
She also advises clients on the structuring of energy-related contracts, regulatory framework assessments, and compliance with Romanian legislation and European Union regulations.
In addition, Gabriela provides specialised advice in energy-related disputes, working alongside the firm's litigation team.
- Assisted leading alliances of beverage producers in establishing and implementing Romania's deposit return system for single-use primary packaging.
- Advised a key renewable energy developer on the permitting, structuring, and development of its Romanian wind energy portfolio, totalling approximately 715 MW, through to near ready-to-build status.
- Advised an energy company focused on clean energy infrastructure, sustainability projects, and waste-to-energy solutions on the acquisition of five solar projects totalling approximately 230 MW, together with a separate 100 MW battery energy storage project sharing a joint grid connection solution.
- Advised SAICA, a Spanish corporation providing sustainable solutions for recycled paper and packaging manufacturing, waste management, and recovery, on the Romanian law aspects of its acquisition of the Thimm Group, a multinational company headquartered in Germany.
- Assisted PepsiCo in acquiring a minority shareholding in AQUA Carpatica, a Romanian spring water brand owned by Carpathian Springs S.A.
