Meet the Team

  • Interim managing editor

    Based in Hong Kong SAR, Karry joined IFLR in October 2017. She manages the team and is responsible for IFLR's content. She also covers all aspects of financial regulation across Asia and has a particular interest in corporate governance and ESG. Previously, she worked in sustainability education and policy research.

      Alice is Americas Editor for IFLR, with a responsibility for the US markets, particularly covering how they interact with the UK and Europe. She regularly touches base with market participants positioned both on the buy and sell side, but also with a large number of advisors and consultants across all parts of the market. Previously, she focused on benchmark reform and Brexit.
  • Senior journalist
    Thomas has worked for a variety of media outlets, including Kashmir Observer, La Vanguardia, and Hürriyet Daily News. He joined IFLR in 2019 and his long report "The Accumulative Impact of Post-Crisis Regulation" was the first journalistic attempt to survey the impact of post-2008 reforms on financial markets. He is currently focused on Brexit, Mifid II, market structure issues, and sustainable finance.

      Lucy joined IFLR as a reporter in 2021. Before this, she graduated from Oxford University and completed an NCTJ Diploma in Multimedia Journalism while interning at the Financial Times. She covers a wide range of areas including regulation, M&A and ESG. With a background in sustainability and financial journalism, she is particularly interested in the role of the private sector in the transition to net-zero.

  • Head of awards research

    James is head of the awards research team. James has led the research across IFLR’s awards for several years and also leads on the ITR awards. He is responsible for developing strategy and best practice across Euromoney’s awards to ensure that they all remain best-in-class in their respective industries. James previously worked as EMEA editor for IFLR1000 and commercial editor for IFLR.
  • Awards researcher, legal awards lead

    John is a researcher on Euromoney’s awards research team with responsibility for the legal awards. John has led the research for the Women in Business Law, Rising Star, Life Sciences and ITR awards. He covers a wide array of legal specialisms globally and has supported on IFLR’s Asia-Pacific, Americas and Europe awards. John is based in the UK and has been a part of the Euromoney group since 2019. He obtained his LLB in 2020.

    Sophie is an editor on the awards research team. She has led research on IFLR awards in both the Middle East and India, and also works on awards across the Euromoney, GlobalCapital and Insurance Insider portfolios. Sophie is the main point of contact for Euromoney’s Awards for Excellence and GlobalCapital’s Derivatives awards and is based in the UK. She joined the Euromoney group in 2021 from another legal benchmarking business.

    Jamie is an editor on the awards research team. He has led research on the IFLR Africa Awards and The Deal awards, and is focussing on the development of in-house categories across the legal awards. He is based in the UK and joined the Euromoney group in 2021 from another legal benchmarking business.

  • Commercial Director, Business Development (EMEA)

    Emily heads up business development at IFLR, IFLR1000 and The Deal. Among her responsibilities are rolling out new data platforms across the group, managing large thought leadership packages, and increasing the scope of the IFLR and The Deal.
  • APAC business development manager

    Hong Kong SAR-based Anicette handles business development for the entire APAC region. She collaborates with firms to showcase their expertise to our buyers of legal services focusing on the law of international capital markets, banking, M&A, and financial regulation through our different platforms and formats, including thought leadership.

  • EMEA business development manager

    Sanawa handles business development for the EMEA region, helping firms based in Europe, the Middle East and Africa showcase their work. Contact Sanawa to tell your story from your perspective and increase brand awareness to the IFLR international viewership which is mainly made up of in-house counsel from global companies and lawyers from the world’s leading law firms.
  • Copy manager

    Ahmed is copy manager for IFLR and the IFLR1000. Within his role he maintains brand integrity by ensuring brand standards and consistency are maintained across IFLR. He collaborates with firms to showcase their expertise to our global audience through our different platforms and formats, including thought leadership content.
  • Sales manager

    Melanie is the sales manager for IFLR events in Europe and the IFLR Women in Business Law Group. IFLR produces five high-level conferences and summits annually, attracting more than 1,000 senior in-house counsel from multinational organisations. Melanie collaborates with firms to showcase their expertise through speaking and sponsoring IFLR events
