Alina Radu has 28 years of experience in the legal profession and co-heads NNDKP's Banking and Finance and Capital Markets practices. She also co-leads the team providing legal assistance in the banking and financial services sector, including payment services, insurance, fintech, and consumer protection matters.
Alina advises on a broad range of domestic and multi-jurisdictional financing transactions, acting for both borrowers and lenders. Her experience spans regulated sectors such as renewable energy, oil and gas, healthcare, and financial services. She is particularly recognised for advising on projects involving novel structures, complex contractual arrangements, and significant regulatory considerations.
Her professional track record also includes mergers and acquisitions in the banking sector, notably the first cross-border mergers completed in the Romanian banking market, as well as landmark privatisations that have helped shape the local business environment.
In addition, Alina advises on key financing issues arising in borrower default, restructuring, and insolvency scenarios.
- Advised CEC Bank and Exim Banca Românească on the financing for the development of the CET Titan combined heat and power plant project.
- Assisted MedLife, Romania's largest private healthcare network, with the increase of its syndicated loan facility by up to EUR 50 million, bringing the total facility amount to EUR 330 million.
- Advised lenders on one of the largest financing transactions in the Romanian market, valued at EUR 940 million, involving three major companies in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.
- Assisted a syndicate of banks with the amendment and extension until 2026 of USD 150 million working capital credit facilities for ALRO S.A., one of Europe's largest vertically integrated aluminium producers by production capacity.
- Advised a large syndicate of banks on the Romanian law aspects of the cross-border restructuring of a multinational automotive parts manufacturer, with an overall transaction value of USD 2.19 billion.
