Biography

Nadia Abdallah is a Partner at Matouk Bassiouny and a member of the Finance and Projects practice group. She has 10 years of experience advising on project finance, asset finance, real estate finance, acquisition finance, and general corporate and commercial matters. Her areas of expertise include energy, power, project financing, ports, transportation, aviation, and banking.

She has also advised on company law matters, including the establishment of corporate entities, day-to-day corporate advisory work, and the drafting and negotiation of a wide range of commercial agreements.

Nadia has represented project sponsors, owners, and developers on projects across Egypt, Sudan, and the wider region, particularly in the energy sector, including oil and gas, power generation, and renewable energy projects.

Recent matter / case highlights

  • Represented Red Sea Wind Energy S.A.E., a consortium comprising ENGIE, Orascom Construction PLC, Toyota Tsusho Corporation, and Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation, in connection with financing arrangements totaling approximately USD 620 million for a 650 MW wind energy project in Ras Ghareb.
  • Represented a syndicate of banks including the National Bank of Egypt, Commercial International Bank, and Arab African International Bank in connection with a syndicated loan valued at EGP 5 billion to the National Egyptian Railway Industries Company (NERIC).
  • Represented Deutsche Bahn International Operations GmbH and Elsewedy Electric in connection with the operation and maintenance agreement for Egypt’s first electric high-speed rail project.
  • Represented DP World Sokhna in connection with a USD 300 million financing to refinance existing facilities and fund capital expenditure relating to the Ain Al Sokhna Port container and bulk cargo terminal project.
  • Represented AD Ports Group in connection with the negotiation of the Safaga port concession agreement and related development arrangements for projects in East Port Said, Ain Al Sokhna, Hurghada, and Sharm El Sheikh.
