Amr Baggatto

Amr Baggatto is a Partner at Matouk Bassiouny & Hennawy and a member of the Corporate and M&A practice group. He heads the firm's insurance sector. Prior to joining the firm in October 2018, he served as a Partner at Baker McKenzie's Cairo office and previously worked in the legal department of the Commercial International Bank. He has extensive experience in corporate, capital markets, banking, and finance matters.

• Represented Qatari Diar in connection with a USD 29.7 billion strategic partnership investment with the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA).
• Represented Otsuka Holdings in connection with Commercial International Bank's divestment in Egypt Otsuka Pharmaceuticals, through which Otsuka acquired CIB's 12% equity stake.
• Represented Arab African International Bank and Commercial International Bank in a syndicated loan transaction valued at USD 120 million.
• Represented Commercial International Bank (CIB) in its acquisition of a 15% minority stake in El Sewedy for Engineering Industries (SEI).
• Represented Arab African International Bank in structured sale and lease finance transactions valued at USD 40 million and USD 60 million.
