Founded in 1976, Rajah & Tann Singapore is one of the largest full-service firms in Singapore. The firm is regarded as one of the jurisdiction’s elite firms, dubbed the “Big Four”. The firm, led by managing partner Patrick Ang and deputy managing partner Rebecca Chew, extends its presence throughout the region with Rajah & Tann Asia, the largest Southeast Asian network of law firms.

Highlights

Recent examples of the firm’s deal work include advising Synagistics, a leading Southeast Asian digital commerce platform, in Hong Kong's inaugural de-SPAC transaction since the 2021 rule changes. The landmark deal involved a business combination with Hong Kong Acquisition Corporation, structured through a novel amalgamation under Section 215A of the Singapore Companies Act. This pioneering transaction establishes an important market precedent for future de-SPAC combinations in the region.

Other highlights include advising Midea Group on its US$3.98 billion public offering on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. This landmark transaction represents Hong Kong's largest IPO since 2021.

Key clients

Havenport Asset Management, Tahan Capital Management, Amansa Capital, New Silk Road Investment, Unison Capital Management, Korea Culture Promotion, Dasin Retail Trust Management, Zettai, SAM Trade Group, and Coca-Cola Sabco (East Africa).
