Kyagaba & Otatiina Advocates is a Ugandan law firm based in Kampala which since 2019 has been a member of Dentons.

 

 

Highlights  

Kyagaba & Otatiina Advocates acted as lead legal counsel to Spouts International in connection with a US$3.5 million equity investment by the Water Access Acceleration Fund S.L.P. The team, led by Dennis Otatiina, drafted and negotiated the share subscription agreement, share buyback agreement, disclosure letter, and amendments to the existing shareholders’ agreement; advised on key regulatory and compliance issues; and ensured strategic alignment with both Ugandan law and international investment standards. The transaction closed in November 2024.  

The firm is also advising National Housing and Construction Company Ltd. on the structuring and implementation of a custom-built, state-of-the-art headquarters for the Electoral Commission of Uganda. Acting as lead counsel, the team is advising on the project structure, negotiating the legal and commercial framework, and drafting and reviewing all construction and ancillary contracts. The transaction closed in November 2024 and was led by David Mpanga.  

Associate partner Julius Kyamanywa joined the Banking & Finance team from DFCU Bank in May 2025.
