Weil Gotshal & Manges dominated the IFLR Americas awards by taking home four honours. The firm won US law firm of the year based partly on its
performance on the Aeropuertos Dominicanos Siglo private equity deal of the year and work for Lehman Brothers in its last-minute sale to Barclays.
The Aerodom deal was the first leveraged buyout in the Dominican Republic and a private equity purchase of highly-regulated entity. Weil had to renegotiate a buy-back clause with the Domincan government if Advent mishandled the airports.
