Rolf Everhardus is an attorney-at-law at AKD. He advises Dutch and international businesses on national or cross-border insolvency and restructuring issues and also advises and litigates with regard to, for example, director's liability, purchases/restarts after bankruptcies, fraudulent preference (actio pauliana), financing and securities.
Rolf also regularly works as a bankruptcy trustee. Rolf’s clients include companies which are themselves (at risk of) experiencing (financial) difficulties or are actually facing the (imminent) bankruptcy of a counterparty. He also regularly advises parties that are interested in a restart or takeover of assets following a bankruptcy.
His clients appreciate his sense of purpose, accessibility and personal approach. Rolf has plenty of experience with problems relating to companies in (financial) difficulties. For that reason he has been called upon to assist with many of the more major bankruptcies in the Netherlands in recent years, during which he provided legal advice or support during the bankruptcy settlements.
In addition to his work as an attorney-at-law and trustee Rolf publishes regularly on issues within his specialist field. He published several times, for example, on pre-pack and restarts after bankruptcy and his annotations to recent case law are published regularly in the ‘Jurisprudentie in Nederland’ (JIN) journal.
Rolf also writes blogs on current and interesting issues on the AKD blog page. Rolf is a member of the board of the AKD Young Business Club where he focuses on establishing and maintaining good relationships with other organisations. He also organises specialist knowledge and network events.
