After law clerkship at the District Court of Affoltern (Zurich), he initially joined Homburger in 1994. He also holds an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, after which he worked in corporate finance for UBS. Benedikt Maurenbrecher became partner in 2002. He headed the Financial Services team 2015–2023. In 2020/2021 he was Co-Chair of the Banking and Law Committee of the International Bar Association.

Advised Basler Kantonalbank in connection with the issuance of CHF 105 m Digital Bonds by the Canton of Basel-Stadt;
