International firm Mayer Brown's Singapore office serves as a hub for the firm's activities throughout the region, particularly for projects work in jurisdictions such as Pakistan, Myanmar and Vietnam.

The firm’s banking team boasts expertise in advising borrowers and lenders on different type of financing and has a special focus on inbound and outbound acquisition financing transactions in India. In the projects area, the firm is best known for its energy and oil and gas work in emerging jurisdictions such as Myanmar, Pakistan, Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia.

Highlights

In a landmark mandate, the firm advised the lenders – Asian Development Bank (ADB), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Export Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand), on its financing to Energy Absolute Public Company for its investment into the production of electric buses in Thailand. This is one of the first large-scale financing initiatives for e-buses in Thailand and will make meaningful contributions to the country’s climate ambitions by diversifying the transportation mix in favour of e-buses and to Thailand’s policy to develop the EV industry.
