The name Ignatius Andy conjures respect and admiration from peers. The dispute resolution boutique of Ignatius Andy Law Offices is helmed by the eponymous market leader known for his litigation prowess and deep knowledge of competition law. The firm focuses entirely on litigation, domestic and international arbitration, competition matters, and restructuring and insolvency. Andy started his firm in 2004 after leaving Hadiputranto Hadinoto & Partners, where he helped establish its litigation practice group. Andy is an arbitrator at the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, Indonesian Arbitration and Mediation Centre, and the China Maritime Arbitration Commission. He was also elected by the ICC World Council as a member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration for a three-year term from 2021 to 2024.  

Highlighting the firm’s expertise in contentious antitrust matters, Andy and his team acted for STT Communication and Asia Mobile Holding Company in judicial proceedings against the allegation of violation of cross-holding share ownership in relation with the share ownership in Indosat Tbk and Telekomunikasi Selular. In a pioneering case as the first major anti-monopoly proceeding in the country, the team represented Deloitte & Touche FAS in judicial proceedings against the allegation of conspiracy in relation to the tender of shares and convertible bond of Indomobil Sukses Internasional.  

Other notable successes include defending ExxonMobil in judicial proceedings regarding dispute of land located in an oil drilling area in Bojonegoro, acting for Carrefour Indonesia to settle a dispute with one of its major Indonesian competitors, and representing British American Tobacco as plaintiff at the District Court of East Jakarta relating to breach of a consultation agreement.
