Since the European Commission (EC) adopted an action plan on sustainable finance in March 2018, a package of reforms pushing the sustainability agenda forward has now been finalised. These reforms will reshape the way institutional investors and asset managers integrate environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into their investment decision-making, and how they market green financial products. Buyside firms have a significant amount of work to do over the next 12 months to establish the key issues and prepare themselves, and should expect their approach to sustainable investing to be of increased interest to both investors and the media, amid mounting fears about the risks posed by climate change to the global economy....
