In Africa several firms expanded into new markets recently.
South Africa's Bowmans moved into Mauritius and Ethiopia in
International firm CMS also extended its network in Africa,
merging with Kenyan and South African firms. Already present in
Angola, Algeria and Morocco, CMS combined with
Johannesburg-based RM Partners and Daly & Inamdar
Advocates, which has offices in Nairobi and Mombasa.
In North Africa, Dentons established in Morocco via a merger
with local firm Sayarh & Menjra.
Further north in the region in Germany, DWF added to its
steadily growing global network by absorbing Dusseldorf-based
Marccus Partners, a team of 10 lawyers with half of them
partners. In Italy, Paul Hastings opted to close its Milan
branch after the office's two remaining partners moved.
