The research process for the 2014 IFLR Middle East awards has begun.

The awards have grown this year, with several new categories. Notable additions are the domestic deal of the year category, as well as the Rising Star law firm of the year. This will be awarded to a firm established after January 1 2009 that has provided local law advice on the most innovative international finance deals.

This year, we are also accepting submissions for the Managing Partner of the year and the Female Lawyer of the year.

Submission forms were sent out today, Thursday May 8. If you would like to participate and have not received submission forms, please email gvarriale@euromoneyplc.com

The deadline for submissions is June 24, so please let us know as soon as possible if you would like to participate.

This year IFLR will be rewarding the most innovative legal deals and teams across seven categories:

  • Debt and equity-linked deal/team of the year;
  • Domestic deal of the year (new category);
  • Equity deal/team of the year;
  • M&A deal/team of the year;
  • Pro bono team of the year;
  • Project finance deal/team of the year;
  • Restructuring deal/team of the year.

The IFLR awards are based solely on legal innovation; they reward deals that break new legal ground and set market precedents.

Nominations will be announced on our website in August. The winners will be announced at the annual ceremony on October 15 2014 at the Burj Al-Arab in Dubai.
