HSBC/Oman International Bank merger explained

The merger between HSBC and Oman International Bank (OIB) piloted a never-before-seen legal structure set to have real significance for the region.

“This was a transaction where legal structuring really drove the deal,” said Oman-based Roger Byrne of Trowers & Hamlins. “There was a lot of discussion with the regulators to come up with the structure.”
