Senior senator advisor Mark Wetjen was appointed as the new commissioner of the Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) on Friday morning.
As policy advisor to majority leader Harry Reid, Wetjen played a key role in Dodd-Frank’s passage through the Senate, CFTC chairman Gary Gensler said in a press statement.
Wetjen replaces Mike Dunn who served as Commissioner since 2004.
