As the last snow disappears from the southern half of the Nordic
region and the winter tyres are put back in storage, there is a
peculiarly fresh and crisp look to this part of the world. The
harbour waters of Helsinki, Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen, and the
skies above them, turn a deep clear blue that shows little of the
pollution endemic to most European cities. Nordic lawyers can gaze
from their windows and believe that their future is clear as the
horizon, but even here a cloud of uncertainty is covering the route
that the markets will take.
The economies of the Nordic region have soared over the last few
years, and while the law firms that serve them have benefited in
kind, entrepreneurial and high technology clients are changing the
lawyers and the firms they belong to.
