Biography

Zelda is a Partner in the Finance & Projects Practice Group at Templars. She has extensive experience advising on both domestic and cross-border leveraged finance, capital market, project finance and M&A transactions. Her legal experience cuts across Europe and Africa and has seen her acting for various transaction parties including lenders, arrangers, trustees, project sponsors, equity investors and target companies. 

Prior to Templars, she worked with the Nigerian investment bank, UBA Global Markets (now United Capital), and before that as a member of the Banking and Finance team of Clifford Chance in London and the Structured Finance Team of the same firm in Milan. In Milan, Zelda worked as part of a bilingual team and speaks Italian. 

She is currently a member of the FMDQ Sub-Committee on Regulation Consolidation of the Nigerian Debt Capital Market.

Recent transactional highlights
  • A syndicate of Lenders led by International Finance Corporation and comprising commercial banks (international and local) and other DFIs (including CDC, Proparco, EIB, AfDB)IFC on the US$1.2 billion financing for the expansion of Indorama Eleme Fertilizer and Chemical Ltd’s Urea Fertilizer Complex (Line II)

  •  

    Standard Bank Group, AFC and Access Bank plc on the US$470 million RBL facility to Neconde Energy Limited, the US$720 million upsizing of that facility, and the US$560 million corporate facility refinancing of the RBL facility.

  • UBA plc on its US$500 million debut Eurobond.
  • IFC on the sale of its equity stake in FSDH Merchant Bank Limited.
  • Liberty Holdings Limited, a member of the leading South African Standard Bank- Liberty (Stanlib) Group Financial Services Conglomerate on the proposed acquisition of a majority stake in a listed Nigerian insurance company.
  • African Development Bank and a consortium of Nigerian Commercial banks as lenders in connection with a multi-currency financing to Afe Babalola University.
