Rui is a partner and heads the Corporate | M&A practice.
He specializes in corporate law with a focus on mergers and acquisitions. In his practice, Rui advises corporations, financial institutions, and private equity firms on a wide range of cross-border and domestic transactions. Rui has a significant track record across different industries, particularly in highly regulated sectors. Besides mergers and acquisitions, Rui advises clients on capital markets transactions, including initial public offerings of Macau interests with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
Rui’s practice also focuses on the gaming sector, where he advises casino operators, sports betting companies, technology providers and gaming investors in a broad range of commercial and regulatory matters. He has assisted governments in emerging markets in developing their gaming policies and regulatory frameworks, being the firm’s key contact for the gaming sector.
He currently serves as the firm’s Managing Partner.
