Biography

Ozofu 'Latunde Ogiemudia is a partner in Udo Udoma & Belo-Osagie’s corporate advisory, private equity, mergers & acquisitions, competition, employment, private wealth management, and pro bono teams. She co-heads the firm’s pro bono practice, which, along with law firms from several other jurisdictions, was awarded the 2018 TrustLaw Collaboration Award by the Thomson Reuters Foundation for their work on the 28 Too Many Report on female genital mutilation, as well as the Lex Mundi Pro Bono Foundation Award for Africa in 2020 and 2023.

Ozofu is the Chairperson of the Nigerian Bar Association, Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL). She is also the Chairperson of the Central Organising Committee for the 2026 Nigerian Economic Summit. She was the chairperson of the Technical Advisory Committee to the 8th Nigerian Senate on the drafting of the Companies and Allied Matters Act 2020 and was the Thematic Lead of the National Assembly Business Environment Roundtable (NASSBER) Regulatory working group that was set up to assist the National Assembly in identifying and improving bills that relate to any aspect of the regulatory environment. She served as the private sector cochair of the technical subcommittee for the Nigerian Economic Summit from 2023 to 2025.

  • Led the team that advised the Coca-Cola Company on the Nigerian law aspects of its $118 million sale of its entire equity interest in CHI Limited to UAC of Nigeria PLC.
  • Leading the team advising Helios Investment Partners L.P on its $85 million acquisition of Beta Glass PLC and Frigoglass Industries (Nigeria) Limited.
  • Led the team that advised PZ Cussons PLC in connection with the $70 million sale of its interest in PZ Wilmar Limited to its joint venture partner, Wilmar International Limited.
  • Led the team that advised General Atlantic Partners, L.P. and Actis Holdings S.à r.l on regulatory compliance and antitrust approvals for General Atlantic’s $96 billion acquisition of 100% of Actis Holdings S.à r.l.
  • Led the team that advised CardinalStone Capital Advisers Limited on its $20 million Series B investment in Arnergy Mauritius Limited.
