Biography

Mauricio has more than 20 years of professional experience. During that time he has specialized in Dispute Resolution, Environment, Compliance and International Trade. 

He interned at the Appellate Body of the World Trade Organization (1999). He is included in the list of arbitrators appointed by the state members of the free trade agreements with the U.S. (CAFTA) and Mexico, among others. He is an active litigation attorney in Costa Rican courts. Mauricio serves as Chairman of the Administration Council of the International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration sponsored by the American Chamber of Commerce in Costa Rica, and is a member of the arbitration commission of the national chapter of the International Chamber of Commerce. He is a professor of international law at LEAD University and a member of the Board of Visitors of the Organization for Tropical Studies.
