Julio Castellanos

Julio specializes in Banking & Finance, Private Equity and Energy & Infrastructure. Julio has assisted financial entities (domestic and international commercial banks and multilateral organizations) and borrowers in connection with multi-jurisdictional and local credit/acquisition/structure/merger/project finance transactions. His domestic and international capital market practice involves the corporate and debt securities, securitizations, regulatory authorizations, initial public offerings and project bonds. In Energy and Infrastructure he´s been engaged in negotiation and funding of public works concession agreements with strong practice in renewable energies transactions, ppa negotiations and toal roads, ports and airports financing.

• Advised IADB and IFC in the senior lending facility for the financing of the Reventazón Hydro Project, the largest Hydropower project developed to date in the country hydro facility with an estimated cost of US$ 1.422 million.
• Advised Autopistas del Sol, a Globalvia Infrastructure subsidiary, in its issuance of $300 million senior secured notes in international markets, as well as the placement of notes in the local market valued at $50.75 million.
• Advised Celsia (Grupo Argos energy subsidiary) on the cross-border issuance of corporate secure notes up to US$320 million.
