Biography

Adriana has over 14 years of experience advising national and transnational companies in day-to-day matters, as well as complex multi-jurisdictional mergers and acquisitions, coordinating work with law firms and legal teams from around the world. Her expertise also includes the review and implementation of contracts, debt restructuring, design and execution of corporate structures, tax, labor and organizational aspects of family businesses.

She is the director of the Young Lawyers’ Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA). She is also the founder and executive director of the nonprofit milk bank foundation, Fundación Banco de Leche Humana Catalina Vega.

Recent transactional highlights
  • Adivised Millicom - the telecom giant which operates under the “Tigo” brand in Latin America- acquired the totality of Telefónica subsidiaries in Costa Rica, Nicaragua y Panamá. BLP advised its client throughout the acquisition process, from the elaboration of the due diligence study and the regulatory analysis of the transaction to the negotiation of the acquisition documents. The transaction totaled US$ 1.650 million (which US$ 570 million of the proceeds going to Telefónica Costa Rica). 
  • Advised East West Manufacturing, LLC, in the acquisition of certain assets and liabilities of General Microcircuits, Inc., a North Carolina corporation, as well as the acquisition of the quotas of its Costa Rican subsidiary General Microcircuits de Costa Rica GMICR S.R.L., 
  • Advised Micro Technologies S.A., a precision manufacturing free zone company, in the financing process of its manufacturing facility and operation, which involved public and private financial institutions like Banco Nacional de Costa Rica and ALDESA
