Biography
Bertrand Schott specialises in the regulation of financial services, investment funds and other investment vehicles (in particular asset management and offerings), financial market infrastructures and the trading of derivatives and other financial instruments. Bertrand also focuses on corporate law and M&A, primarily in the financial sector.
Recent transactional highlights
- Advising a large number of Swiss and foreign financial institutions and asset managers on the new Swiss financial market regulations, in particular the Financial Services Act and the Financial Institutions Act
- Co-author of the Swiss industry opinions to ICMA and ISLA on the various securities lending master agreements and securities lending master agreements
- Advising a large number of Swiss banks and other financial services providers on the Swiss regulation on inducements and soft commissions, including acting as defense counsel
- Advising a major Swiss bank in a strategically important joint venture project relating to its fund distribution platform
