Kalo & Associates is an established Albanian firm based in Tirana and with an office in Kosovo. It was created in 1994 by PërparimKalo, an M&A specialist.

The firm is a founding member of the SEE Legal network, connecting it to firms in 12 jurisdictions across Southeast Europe. 

 

Highlights  

Kalo & Associates advised Raiffeisen Bank Albania in the provision of syndicated loan financing to a major Turkish owned company that has built and owns and operates 3 big Hydro Power Plants in Albania. Their work included the preparation and negotiation of the syndicated loan facility agreement, the provision of legal services in respect of Corporate Guarantees and Personal Guarantees, and the follow up of conditions precedents. The transaction is ongoing.  

The firm has also been engaged by Voltalia S.A to assist in the negotiation of the Project Development Agreement with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Economy, the Power Purchase Agreement with Offtaker, connection agreement with the Albanian Transmission System Operator and other commercial agreements with different partners. The team addresses legal matters of power sector law, renewable energy law and power market rules as well as in general public law, administrative law and civil law matters. The advice is ongoing.  

Partner Jola Gjuzi left the Energy and Infrastructure in January 2024.
