BIRO OKTROI ROOSSENO is one of the oldest IP firms in Indonesia. The firm was established in Jakarta in 1951 by Professor Roosseno Soerjohadikoesoemo and Mr. Yland, a prominent Dutch lawyer. Initially it only handled patents and trademarks, but today it is recognized as a full-service law firm.
BIRO OKTROI ROOSSENO was founded as a result of Professor Roosseno’s interest in education and desire to encourage new inventions and creative work through the use of Intellectual Property. The firm’s early patents were Professor Roosseno’s own inventions, and his example encouraged more patents through the firm, contributing to the increasing importance of IP rights.
Over its 75 years of existence, the firm has built up a large client base, including multinational corporations, research institutes, universities and individuals, thanks to its professional reputation and longstanding relationships with colleagues and leading international firms in Indonesia and overseas.
