This year's IFLR Americas Awards contribution to regulatory reform award winner talks crypto, Libor, Covid-19 and the digital dollar

Listen on Spotify Chris Giancarlo is the recipient of this year’s IFLR Americas awards contribution to regulatory reform award.

Giancarlo was the 13th chair of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). His tenure ended in April 2019. Since then he has founded the Digital Dollar Project, where he advocates for the creation of a digital dollar, and taken up a position as senior counsel at Willkie Farr & Gallagher.

In lieu of a traditional black tie event at Essex House, Americas editor John Crabb interviewed Chris for the latest installment of our podcast series. In the interview, Giancarlo talks about his achievements at the CFTC, the future of crypto, the efforts to replace Libor, Covid-19 and cross-border collaboration, as well as his upcoming book on the digital transformation of the markets.

We hope you enjoy the podcast.
