Mexico to launch own Lava Jato-style investigation

Incoming Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) is set to crack down on bribery and corruption in the country to never before seen levels. One of the main promises of his campaign was to tackle the deep corruption in the country, which could lead to an investigation that could rival Brazil’s Lava Jato scandal.

AMLO is set to install an exemplary special prosecutor for corruption once he takes office, who will investigate bribery issues in past infrastructure projects, in business, and within previous administrations.
