On July 21 China's army of cash-loaded corporates met with yet more resistance within the US.

Washington DC-based Food & Water Watch had joined forces with the National Farmers Union to pen a 16-page letter to nine US cabinet-level officials. They urged the Committee on Foreign Investment in the US (Cfius) to block an attempted acquisition of Swiss agribusiness Syngenta by Chinese state-owned China National Chemical (ChemChina).
