Sebi should clarify securities allotment regulations

Bankers’ counsel in India are calling for the Securities Exchange Board of India (Sebi) to issue clearer regulations on the allocation of securities.

Ambiguous rules relating to oversubscription had encouraged a general expectation that issuers would follow a proportionate allotment system, but more often than not preferential treatment to certain groups of investors was evident.
