Korea’s legal regime discourages foreign investment

Korea’s legal regime still retains some primitive aspects that could discourage foreign investment.

Speaking at IFLR’s Korea Summit in Hong Kong, Daniel S Kim, Paul Hastings’ corporate partner, said that strict sanctions within the country’s regulatory regime to ensure senior management face civil and criminal action if found in breach of fiduciary duty create hurdles for would-be investors.
