Appeal could hinder change to HK privatisations

As judges and lawyers call for changes to the way privatisations are conducted in Hong Kong, an appeal by the chairman of PCCW concerning the company’s blocked privatisation could slow reform.

Following the publication of the Court of Appeal’s written judgement on Monday, PCCW today announced that it would challenge the decision. This could delay privatisation reforms which many believe are needed.
