What initially drew you to the CFTC and caused you to take
the leap from firm to regulator?
I have a broker management and legal background, working in
New York City from 2001 to mid- 2014, when I entered the
regulatory arena as a CFTC Commissioner.
And, for your readers who may not know, I play the banjo,
which is a lot like throwing a javelin blindfolded, because you
don't have to be very good to get people's attention. But
playing the banjo is not my most unusual qualification, as I
have been a long-standing advocate of swaps market reform,
going back to when I entered the swaps industry in 2000.
