Asifma releases standard documentation for Asian equities

The Asia Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (Asifma) is releasing standard documentation for equity capital markets deals to increase market efficiencies.

While organisations such as the Asia-Pacific Loan Market Association have coordinated standard documentation for the loan market, there have been few formal efforts in the equity capital markets. However market participants have informally agreed standard language for certain documents.

Asifma, which initially focussed on fixed income but moved into the equity markets in early 2013, is starting to formalise that process.
