Wolemi is the Deputy Managing Partner of the Firm. He routinely advises on all aspects of the development, privatization, acquisition, financing and operation of power and infrastructure assets. He has broad-based experience in corporate and commercial law and routinely advises on complex commercial transactions (including corporate finance transactions, mergers, and acquisitions) across the broad spectrum of the Nigerian economy. He occasionally undertakes pro bono criminal defence work for indigent accused persons. He is a Jeremy Bentham Scholar of University College London.

Recent transactional highlights
  • Advised a syndicate of lenders in connection with the restructuring of the UD370,755,000 term facility granted to Accugas Limited.
  • Advised Transcorp on its USD292.5million acquisition of 100% of the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN)’s stake in the Afam power assets, following Transcorp’s emergence as a preferred bidder in the competitive bidding process conducted by the Bureau of public Enterprise.
  • Advised on the US$3 billion hybrid financing for the development of NLNG’s seventh liquefaction train.
  • Advised on the debt issuance programme established by BUA Cement Plc to raise capital of up to N200,000,000,000.00 (Two Hundred Billion Naira). The bond issue is the largest ever corporate bond issued in the Nigerian debt capital market.
  • Advised the African Finance Corporation (AFC) on its NGN121.4 billion facility to Emerging Markets Telecommunications Services Limited (Etisalat Nigeria, now 9Mobile).
  • Advised the Sellers on the divestment of their shares in Forte Oil Plc. (the Company) valued at USD177Million, constituting 74.02% of the Company’s issued share capital.
  • Advised Evercare Group, the largest healthcare fund on the development of two hospital projects in Lagos, Nigeria valued at USD600 million.
