With more than 20 years practicing laws in Vietnam, Trung has extensive experience in a wide range of industries and practices, notably including banking, capital markets, assets/aircraft financing, corporate/M&A, and foreign investment.
Since 2019, Trung has been consecutively positioned by Legal 500 in the Next Generation of Leading Lawyers in Banking and Finance. From 2020 until now, Trung has been consistently named in the A-list of Top 100 lawyers in Vietnam by Asia Business Law Journal. • Advising a consortium of foreign lenders in a US$800M loan to PV Power;
• Advising Standard Chartered Bank in a US$300M loan to Vietnam Development Bank, US$100M to VietinBank, and US$60M loan facility to Novaland;
• Advising a consortium of foreign lenders in a US$181M loan to Bitexco;
• Advising Apple Bank in a US$155M loan to Sun Air;
• Advising Bangkok Bank in the financing to CMX Renewable Energy Solar Power Plant in Ninh Thuan Province, the largest-scale solar power project in Vietnam;
• Advising the issuance of domestic bonds guaranteed by CGIF and GuarantCo from issuers including Masan Consumer Holding, Mobile World Investment Corporation, Hoan My Medical Corporation, Refrigeration Electrical Engineering Corporation, Hong Phong 1 Energy, EVN Finance, etc.;
• Advising foreign lessors (e.g. AerCap, Aergo Capital, Avolon, Dubai Aerospace Enterprise, ELFC, JPLS, Macquarie, Ping An Leasing, Wings Capital, etc.) in various types of lease of aircraft and engines to Vietnamese airlines (e.g. Vietnam Airlines, VietJet, Bamboo Airlines, Jetstar Pacific, Viettravel Airline, SunAir, etc.);
• Advising foreign investors in the acquisitions of shares in Vietnamese credit institutions and companies (e.g. Habubank, Bao Viet Insurance, Gateway Securities, Vietcombank, VIB Bank, FPT Securities, MCredit, BIDV Finance, or operator of the 5-star Intercontinental Hanoi West Lake Hotel Company).
