Muireann is a partner in the Finance and Capital Markets Department.
She advises a range of Irish and international clients, including financial institutions, corporate borrowers, developers, investors, government departments and state bodies. Her practice encompasses all aspects of syndicated and bilateral lending, to include project finance, real estate and development finance, corporate and acquisition finance, and green and sustainable finance. Project finance is a particular focus of Muireann’s practice, and she has advised many of the prominent financial institutions and sponsors in the energy and infrastructure market. She is also a regular speaker and panellist at industry events.
Prior to joining Matheson, Muireann practised at another large Irish law firm where she was also a partner.
Muireann has advised:
- Leading solar developers on the financing of several solar projects under RESS 2
- A large investment bank on the portfolio financing of some of the first utility scale solar projects in Ireland
- Lenders and borrowers on the financing of wind farm projects
- Investors acquiring an interest in operational projects in the conventional electricity sector
- A data centre developer on its global financing arrangements
- The lenders on numerous social housing projects, to include development, investment, mortgage to rent and PPP structures
- An Irish pillar bank on the development financing of a large student housing portfolio
