Karla Aguilar Rodriguez

In Energy & Natural Resources, Aguilar has written legal opinions related to regulated sectors, assisted in international and local bidding processes, drafted electric power supply contracts, secured development and operation permits for electric power projects. In Aviation & Maritime has mastered the regulatory plans, allowing her broad expertise in drafting opinions on contracts, and in obtaining permits and licenses. Her Environmental, Health & Safety experience includes permits and licenses, environmental impact mitigation contracts, environmental impact studies, and the project socialization process for electric power plants.

• Assisted Scatec Solar ASA and KNI Norfund Investements in developing a 35MW Solar Power Plant in Choluteca, all the way from the acquisition of the SPVs holding the PPAs, to obtaining all permits and finally setting the projects in operation. USD$ 40 million approximate investment.
• Advised the “Tornillito Hydroelectric Project”, the second largest in the country, in the good compliance of the Environmental License, Contract of Operation and Contract of Water.
• Asisted “Azucarera La Grecia” in expading curent environmental licenses and obtain 10 new ones, effectively turning the company into the biggest sugar mill in the country.
