José Miguel Oliveira joined VdA in 2015. He is Managing Associate of the Oil&Gas practice.
José brings clients deep expertise in corporate & commercial matters and applies over 10 years of international experience in African jurisdictions, notably in Angola and Mozambique, to offer tailored advice in such diverse areas as M&A, FDI (Foreign Direct Investment), forex, and shipping & maritime. He has been actively involved in several transactions in those jurisdictions, advising investors/companies in sectors running the gamut from oil & gas, energy, infrastructures, distribution/wholesale, retail services and shipping and ports
In particular as concerns the oil&gas sector, he provides regular advice to operators and oilfield service companies on regulatory and transactional matters, being particularly active in the design and implementation of all sort of business and contractual structures, including, to name a few, consortiums, joint ventures and services agreements, and restructurings.
José is qualified to practice law in both Portugal and Angola.
His regular presence in Angola and Mozambique ensure that his understanding of the local environment and relevant legal framework is second to none.
