Mr. Wang Jianyong is a partner, resident in the Shanghai office. Mr. Wang's practice focuses on capital markets and merger & acquisitions. Mr. Wang joined Haiwen in 1999. Mr. Wang worked at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in its New York and Hong Kong offices from 2003 to 2004.

Mr. Wang has been highly ranked by International Financial Law Review (IFLR1000) as a leading lawyer in capital markets and M&A practice.

Recent case highlights

Mr. Wang has represented international and Chinese enterprises in their cross border or domestic investments, especially public M&A transactions. Mr. Wang's representative M&A experience including: merger of CNR and CSR, merger of Shenyin Wanguo and Hongyuan Securities, Meiya Pico's acquisition of Zhuhai Xindehui and Jiangsu Shuiruan. YAHGEE's acquisition of Nanshan Real Estate, China Meheco in connection with its merger with Henan Topfound Medicine, MAI’s tender offer of Sanonda B shares, China Mobile in its investments in iFLYTEC and Pudong Development Bank. etc.

Mr. Wang has also represented PE and VC funds in their investments in various sectors including energy, healthcare, consumer products, TMT etc.

Mr. Wang's representative securities offering experience includes the equity financing of BeiGene, China Everbright Bank, Qingdao Bank, Agricultural Bank of China, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Construction Bank, China Comservice, China Construction Bank, China Life Insurance, China Telecom, China Unicom, China Merchants Bank, Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, Jiangxi Copper etc.
