Biography
Gonzalo is an expert in regulated sectors. His main area of specialisation is energy and infrastructures, but he also advises on other regulated sectors such as water, environment and public contracts. Over the last few years, he has advised some of the main operators of the energy Iberian markets as well as several international investors (including foreign utilities and E&I funds).
Gonzalo combines his practice in regulated sectors with wide-ranging expertise on corporate and commercial law, which allows him to approach matters from a dual -transactional and non-transactional- perspective.
Recent transactional highlights
- EDP on the transaction agreed with Macquarie that included the acquisition of Viesgo Distribution (75.1%), Viesgo Renewables (100%) and Viesgo Coal (100%) and the transfer of 24.9% of EDP´s Distribution business (E-Redes). The aggregate enterprise value of the transaction is over €5 billion.
- Galp on the acquisition from ACS Group of a portfolio of operating and under development PV projects in Spain with an expected installed capacity of 2.9 GW. Deal value: €2.2 billion.
- EDP Group on the €2.5 billion sale of Naturgás.
- Galp on a PPA with the Spanish renewable company X-Elio for solar projects with a capacity of 200 MW.
- NClave on the drafting and negotiation of solar PV mounting structures and trackers supply agreements for several PV plants around the world (USA, Australia, Europe, LATAM, Africa, etc.).
- DWS on its investments and divestments in Spain, including the acquisition of significant stakes in solar CSP plants, wind plants and LNG regasification plants (BBG and SAGGAS) in Spain.
- European Investment Bank on the financing of the construction and operation (including PPA) of nine wind farms with a total capacity of 300 MW in Spain (Project Goya).
- EKZ Renewables on the acquisition of the Algibicos solar photovoltaic project in Murcia (Spain) (49 MW).
- EDP Group on the IPO and listing (in Eurolist by Euronext Lisbon) of EDP Renováveis.
- Hyperion Management, S.L. on the development of 6 CSP plants (300 MW) in Spain.
- EDP Group on the take-over bid launched over the whole share capital of Hidroeléctrica del Cantábrico, S.A. Transaction value at €2 billion.
