Deon Wilken is a Director in our Banking, Finance & Projects practice, He is a finance and banking law specialist with several years of banking and finance law experience, Deon has assisted numerous financiers and borrowers in debt raising transactions in the project, export and acquisition finance fields. Deon's other areas of expertise are Financial Markets & Securities Law and Banking Law and Credit Law.

• Advised Harmony Gold on a US$200 million equity take out bridge loan facility, from a syndicate of banks to fund the acquisition of The Moab Khotsong and Great Noligwa Mines from Anglo Gold Ashanti;
• Advised S A Airlink in 2 aircraft financing transactions with Nedbank and separately Investec Bank to purchase new aircraft as part of fleet expansion programme;
• Advised Standard Bank concerning the restructuring, refinancing and roll-up of existing senior facilities for Vumatel Group including new money facility for infrastructure investment and capital expansion for fibre network rollout;
• Advised sponsor to 3 renewable energy solar projects in Round IV of the REIPPP as to senior debt and equity funding.
