Highlights  

IBLAW advised their client, Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC), the central development arm of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, on entering into a strategic partnership with Voyacy Regen, a US-based blue technology company, to advance marine innovation and sustainable investment in Jordan. Acting as lead counsel, the team was responsible for drafting an MOU that includes both public-sector authority and private foreign investment obligations, as well as regulatory structuring for project-specific SPVs and financial instruments. The transaction closed in March 2025 and was led by Firas Malhas.  

The firm was also engaged by Aqaba Development Company (ADC) to draft and negotiate an agreement between the client and Egypt Gas Company to facilitate the supply of natural gas to the Al-Quwaira Industrial City in Jordan. The agreement outlines the legal framework for constructing a natural gas pipeline network, associated infrastructure, and a monitoring and control facility, ensuring compliance with both international and local regulations governing the gas sector. The transaction closed in October 2024 and was led by Firas Malhas.
