Last year’s IFLR Asia-Pacific awards winners’ presentation, write-ups and shortlists are free to view at Winners 2020 and Shortlist 2020. You can also listen to awards podcasts discussions and interviews with some of last year’s awards winners here.
For those who have taken part before, many of the key requirements and guidelines for the awards remain unchanged from last year's awards.
The most important of these criteria is that all deals must have closed in 2020 to be included in the research. Deals that have not closed before the end of December 2020 will not be considered. All deals must also meet our cross-border criteria.
As ever, the IFLR awards are based solely on legal innovation and on deals that break new legal ground. The deals form the basis of most of the team and firm of the year awards.
However, we have made some changes. We are committing to finding ways, within the remit of the IFLR awards, to promote work that supports high ESG [environmental, social, governance] standards. As part of this pledge, we will no longer shortlist new investments into any hydrocarbon project. More details can be found in the awards summary.
We will also be expanding IFLR awards' focus on in-house legal teams and will, over the course of the research, be looking at ways to recognise and reward their innovative work.
We look forward to being in touch during the research period. Good luck!
