Patricia López Padilla Barrera
Patricia cuenta con más de 20 años de experiencia en derecho fiscal. Su práctica comprende consultoría fiscal nacional e internacional, procedimientos administrativos, controversia y litigio fiscal de alta complejidad, asesorando y representando a empresas nacionales y multinacionales en asuntos tributarios estratégicos.
Su experiencia incluye contribuciones federales y locales, tributación internacional, aplicación e interpretación de tratados fiscales, implicaciones fiscales de operaciones corporativas complejas y el diseño de estrategias para la prevención, administración y resolución de contingencias fiscales.
Patricia ha participado en la definición y conducción de estrategias de defensa en asuntos de especial complejidad técnica y relevancia económica, coordinando equipos jurídicos y especialistas para ofrecer una atención integral en controversias tributarias. Su trayectoria ha sido reconocida por The Best Lawyers in Mexico en Tax Law desde 2020, The Legal 500 en Tax y Lexology Index como abogada recomendada en materia fiscal en México.
Es licenciada en Derecho por la Universidad Panamericana, donde también cursó la Especialidad en Derecho Fiscal, y cuenta con un Diplomado en Tributación Internacional. A su experiencia profesional suma una trayectoria académica de más de dos décadas como profesora de la Universidad Panamericana.

With more than 20 years of experience in domestic and international tax advisory, administrative proceedings, tax controversy and litigation, Patricia brings a strong track record to the continued growth of SMPS Legal’s Tax practice. Patricia López Padilla Barrera
Patricia has more than 20 years of experience in tax law. Her practice encompasses domestic and international tax advisory, administrative proceedings, and complex tax controversy and litigation, advising and representing domestic and multinational companies on strategic tax matters.
Her experience includes federal and local taxation, international taxation, the application and interpretation of tax treaties, the tax implications of complex corporate transactions, and the development of strategies for the prevention, management and resolution of tax contingencies.
Patricia has extensive experience developing and leading defense strategies in matters involving significant technical complexity and economic exposure, coordinating legal teams and specialists to provide comprehensive representation in tax disputes. Her career has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in Mexico in Tax Law since 2020, The Legal 500 in Tax, and Lexology Index as a recommended lawyer for Tax in Mexico.
Patricia earned her law degree from Universidad Panamericana, where she also completed a postgraduate specialization in Tax Law, and holds a Diploma in International Taxation. In addition to her professional practice, she has more than two decades of academic experience as a professor at Universidad Panamericana.
