Shalakany is pleased to announce that it has obtained an exequatur on a foreign ship mortgage contract with respect to a vessel seized in the Suez Canal. Shalakany began handling the enforcement on the ship at the end of the year 2020 and has secured an exequatur on a foreign mortgage contract between its Client and the owner of the seized ship. The procedures of the enforcement were difficult but the outstanding performance of Shalakany’s dispute resolution team ensured a successful outcome.

Ms. Laila Bahaa, Counsel, said: “We are pleased to represent our client in this important enforcement. Enforcement in Maritime matters is very different and much more challenging than enforcement in Civil and Commercial matters. We are very proud of this outcome, which loyally outlines our strengths in delivering.”
