Benelux firm AKD has expanded in Belgium hiring the Brussels team of McGuireWoods
AKD now has ten lawyers in Brussels, after adding four partners, one counsel and four further McGuireWoods' employees. Key arrivals include mining specialist Hubert André-Dumont, and M&A lawyer Timothy Speelman.
Prior to the additions the Brussels office of AKD had mainly focused on European and competition law. The expansion allows the firm to become full service with extra resources in areas including M&A, project development and real estate.
As a result of the move McGuireWoods has now closed its Brussels office. In the future the firm will refer clients to AKD for advice in the Benelux region.
