Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas (SAM) has strengthened its Mumbai team with the hire of a corporate expert.
Sugandha Asthana joins the firm from AZB & Partners where she had served as a partner for two years.
Having joined AZB from J Sagar Associates in 2014, Asthana became a partner in 2016. Her work includes advice on corporate restructurings, joint ventures, buybacks, and inbound and outbound investments. A notable mandate saw her acting on Tata Consultancy Services' high-value buyback of equity shares.
This move to bolster the firm's corporate team comes at a crucial time after the recent losses of corporate partner Sourav Kanti De Biswas to rival Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and principal associate Anuj Trivedi to Link Legal.
